Stephen Chandler the owner of Perth Splashbacks originally came from a carpenter/cabinet maker family in an old Roman city called Bath within the UK. He was trained by his Uncle who was a carpenter. His granddad was also a carpenter / cabinet maker and whose family name was Wood on his Mothers side and Chandler on Fathers.
When he completed his apprenticeship he went out on his own working in the kitchen cabinetry and window trade, installing kitchens,cabinets and windows. He renovated historic church windows with metal and timber framing and stained glass windows. This led to working on many beautiful historic churches and homes within the UK.
From there Stephen went into double glazing, again working alongside his uncle until he sub contracted on his own. He offered a complete range of renovation services which involved all trades including carpentry, cabinet making, glazing, double glazing, plastering, conservatory installations, bricklaying, roofing and flooring.
Until eventually client’s were looking for something a little different within their kitchens, and the idea of coloured glass splashbacks was born and Perth Splashbacks started operating in Perth Western Australia.
The Australian Glass and Glazing Association has now recognised Stephen with Master Glazier / Joiner certification .
